Lighthouse Cottage A Pajaro Bay Mystery Book 3 edition by Barbara Cool Lee Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks
Shadow's Lady (Pajaro Bay Series)...is about Lori, her parents, Aunt Zee, and Matt, who has a reputation as a murderer. Lori has Epilepsy and her parents and her fiancée, keep her in a very sheltered world. It gets to be too much for Lori, who wants to be independent and breaks off the engagement. Her Aunt Zee, who is a well known actress in the community and carries a lot weight in the town is on Lori's side. Aunt Zee offers her the Lighthouse and an assignment to get pictures and information for the tourists. Lori brings her cat along for company and her cat doesn't like the change. Lori went into town to get some groceries to bring back to the lighthouse and that's where she runs into Matt, who she thinks is her version of a pirate. When Matt introduces himself, his name sounds familiar, and then Lori eventually realizes who she has met. While on this deserted island in the lighthouse, Lori hears strange sounds and thinks she hears the ghost dog that is rumored to roam the area in search of his owner. Lori goes outside even though it is starting to storm. As she ventures out further and further, she finally sees the dog, who is very real. She also sees, what she thinks is a seal that has washed up onto the land. Upon further investigation, Lori realizes it's a body, and then discovers it's Matt. Even though Lori has been taken care of like she's fragile, she musters up the strength to get Matt into the lighthouse. Matt tries very hard in his condition (he's been shot in the leg) to not reveal too much about himself, and keep up the persona of a bad guy. Lori is also keeping her guard up to not tip Matt off that she "knows" she's on the island with a murderer. Matt makes sure that all means of communication between the lighthouse and the main land is off limits to Lori. This causes tension between the two. Lori sees that the storm is lifting and sees someone she knows in their boat in the general area. Lori slips out and waves down the boat and gets herself and Matt back to the mainland. Matt is taken in by Samantha a member of the Coast Guard, and Lori by someone she knows and his son. Samantha knows exactly who Matt is and takes him to the local medical clinic. Lori is curious as to what is going to happen to Matt. Lori decides to stay with her aunt for a few days and then go back to the lighthouse. Matt and her aunt make it clear she is not to go back to the lighthouse. She doesn't like to be in an isolated, sheltered world, and rebels, but by the end of the story she realizes she can't, nor anyone else can do everything by themselves and sometimes needs help. There are things Lori finds out about her mother, Matt, and even her about her aunt's role in her mother's life, while her mother was younger. Lori's mother, also has Epilepsy, and led a sheltered life. Even though, Lori's mother doesn't regret marrying Lori's father, it was all arranged for her by her parents; just like she was trying to do for Lori. Though the mother still has memories of the young man she wanted to go away with, she ended up marrying Lori's father. Lori, though wants to be more independent, and takes a vocal stand on a lot of issues, to prove she isn't helpless. This story has romance and action. A great read to curl up on the couch with on a cold winter day.Product details

Lighthouse Cottage A Pajaro Bay Mystery Book 3 edition by Barbara Cool Lee Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
I have read several books in the Pajaro Bay series. They are light and fun, with just enough suspense to be entertaining, but not so much as to be scary. Perfect to read before bedtime.
This series of books has me wanting to hang out at Panjaro Dunes in California! Very enjoyable summer reading! Fun!
Well written, I lost myself into the story, it was not what I expected. The Pajaro Bay books are truly wonderful, I recommend all avid readers give them a try .. you will also be hooked. On to the next ...
I liked just about everything in this book. Good plot, believable characters and feel good ending. A reader can't go wrong in investing time with any of this author's books.
Though it was way too SHORT (as were most of Ms Lee's books) .... but they must end somewhere and Ms Lee certainly knows when to end them..... they are a joy to read.....and she really keeps you on you your toes about guessing who the "bad guy" is. I'm sure glad there is another waiting to be read. THANK YOU so much Ms Lee.
Lori has to prove to her family, and herself that she can stand on her own two feet. But when a man washes up on her cliff in a terrible storm her whole life changes. Matt has no idea what Lori will do to his life. The mysterious whispers around town have Matt and Lori not knowing who to trust. Great story.
Barbara Cool Lee fascinates with an engrossing tale of mystery, adventure, charm and romance. While the beginning seemed slow, it was important for the detailed character development, and then it literally flew by. Charming, beguiling and unpredictable characters graced the novel, and demographic details enlivened the story line. Definitely a girly book, it should appeal to a broad range of ages and backgrounds. Cheers for the flawless editing and the talent of the author.
